We strongly stand against those who oppress groups out of ignorance, hatred, or any other reason. We will always stand with the communities whose threats to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness are endangered by those wishing to infringe upon those rights. In light of the recent administration change, we will shift to weekly updates to ensure we remain vigilant and engaged in these pressing matters.
This first month of the new administration has been a stark reminder of the challenges we face in the fight for justice and equity. Here’s a recap of key issues you can engage in:
Climate Crisis
The wildfires ravaging California continue to displace thousands and disproportionately impact marginalized communities. Climate justice is social justice, and we encourage you to support those affected.

Gun Reform
Another tragic school shooting killing two in Nashville has reignited debates on gun control and safety in our communities. Our support goes out to the victims and their families. The right to stay safe in a school setting and the need to protect children is more important than ever.

New Administration Pushes Anti-DEI and Anti-LGBTQ+ Agenda
The recent inauguration speech and subsequent executive orders issued by the new administration advance policies that could harm vulnerable racial, religious, and LGBTQ+ communities. It is imperative that we remain vigilant and hold leadership accountable for their words and actions. Across the country, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) initiatives are being rolled back, and federal funding for critical programs hang in the balance. It is unclear which federal programs are being “reviewed,” but these programs are being reviewed to ban funding for abortion, gender equity, climate advocacy, DEI initiatives, and support for undocumented immigrants. These are direct attacks on the progress we’ve made as a country and goes against the values of our organization.
After the horrific American Eagle Flight 5342 and Black Hawk helicopter mid-air flight, Trump stated DEI might possibly be to blame for the accident, pushing a dangerous rhetoric that people who fit outside of his social norm are to be held accountable for incidents that had nothing to do with them. We now know the issue was due to a lack of air traffic controllers at the high volume airport—and not DEI—but this harmful accusation spreads misinformation and further divides the public on these issues.
Racial and Political Justice
In a disturbing display of exuberance, Elon Musk was seen demonstrating a fascist salute. Elon has since denied his actions, but across the globe, many have criticized this blatant sign of disrespect. On the second day of the Trump Administration, mass deportations began across the country. So far over 7,300 migrants have been deported.

Disturbing reports of public Nazi salutes and increased ICE raids signal a rise in extremist rhetoric and threats against immigrant communities. Over the past month, ICE has intensified raids across multiple states, detaining undocumented individuals, separating families, and targeting workplaces, schools, and places of worship.

On New Year’s Day, a horrific terrorist attack in New Orleans killing 14 and injuring 35, left communities devastated and shaken. The rise in racially and politically motivated violence underscores the urgent need for stronger protections and accountability.
